Which way do straps go

In , the Milanese Loop was redesigned so you could open the band completely by sliding the magnetic closure through the band connector, or lug. On earlier Milanese Loop models, the closure won't slide through the lug. You must separate the Link Bracelet into two pieces before removing the band from your Apple Watch.

Use the steps below to avoid damaging the band or clasp. Hold down a quick release button while you pull. You should separate the band into two pieces before removing the band from your Apple Watch. Never force the band into the slot.

If you don't feel or hear a click, slide the band to the left, then to the right. A different way to wear a watch strap Post by gaf » Mon Feb 05, am I do this with some straps; for me it depends on lots of things, but mostly it seems to be the length of the buckle side strap.

Conversely, the shorter ones are more likely to be reversed as Nordwulf has shown, as the buckle sits in an awkward spot on my wrist. I also suffer from the same problem of the watch slipping towards the outside of my wrist. The reversed strap can resolve it. I do a similar thing with bracelets.

Re: A different way to wear a watch strap Post by nelnut » Mon Feb 05, pm Hmm i just reversed my straps now and it definitely does centers better on my wrist. I'll have to test it out for a few days to see if it's not just a placebo for me. Re: A different way to wear a watch strap Post by Mikkei4 » Mon Feb 05, pm Strange - all my watches sit towards the outside of the wrist and are only centred when first put on. For me the case resting by the wrist bone is the most comfortable location and it's when I least feel that I'm actually wearing a watch.

I've never had any soreness on the wrist bone wearing my watches that way. If not, pull the NATO through the bar. Now simply pull the rest of the NATO strap free of the top spring bar, again being careful on older watches not to damage anything. Now you should be left with a lonely, naked watch that looks vaguely like this.

Well, it may look nothing like this, but it should be strap-less. Continue pulling the strap until the watch head sits near the topmost keeper. After the watch head is affixed to the long side of the NATO, it should look something like this. Now, fold the bottom tip of the longer main piece of the strap through the lower metal keeper on the shorter retaining side of the strap, like so.

Additionally, if you have a Rolex sports watch with drilled lugs and you want to affix a NATO or single-pass strap, you may need to remove the spring bars in order to do so.

Here are our picks for best strap-changing tools , in case you missed it. Push the strap-changing tool through the lug hole until you feel the spring-loaded end release from the lug. You will require a spring-bar removal tool , which can be purchased here if you don't already have one , or a small, flat-bladed screwdriver.

You will also need, of course, your watch, and the new watch strap that you wish to fit. In this example, we will be using the following watch and strap: Almost all types of watch strap are held to the watch by small spring-loaded bars called spring-bars.

These fit into small indents on the inside of the watch case and go through a loop in the end of the watch strap. Just before you take your watch strap off your watch, make a note of which side of the watch strap is attached to which side of the watch.

Usually, if you put the watch down and look at it the right way up, the end of the watch strap with the buckle on goes at the top. To remove the watch strap from the watch, you need to compress one end of the spring bar that is underneath the shoulders of the watch-case and lever it out from underneath the watch case.

The other end can be removed easily.
